Wayne Barrett, the winner of the first Jack Newfield professorship at Hunter College with the help of his students has brought back a Jack Newfield tradition of muckraking journalism by reinstating his famous “The Ten Worst Landlords” news column in the Village Voice as a class project.

Newfield’s long time colleague and investigative reporter Wayne Barrett along with two students at Hunter College Charlene Joseph and Adam Huten premiere on a WNYC New York Public Radio Show, called the Brian Lehrer Show discussing their class project bringing back Jack Newfields tradition of “The Ten Worst Landlords List” in the New York Village Voice as a tribute to Jack Newfield, who originated the series in the 1960’s.
