Ashley Mercado has been at Hunter for two years now. She is a transfer student from the Fashion Institute of Technology. At Hunter she is studying media studies with a concentration in journalism. She loves to write about pop culture, local news that center around people of color, and opinion pieces. In her time at Hunter she was the Journalism Newsletter Director in 2022 where she published news pieces. As the director she also formulated the newsletter every month. Currently she works as an assistant to the director of media at a book publishing company.
