C. Hinkle\u2019s \u201cThe Evanesced: The Untouchables\u201d at the Hunter College\u2019s Galleries exhibition, \u201cThe Black Index,\u201d made student Carley Nicoletti feel moved. \u201cI do feel in awe of a lot of the artwork here because it\u2019s really mesmerizing,\u201d Nicoletti said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mixed media show includes drawing, printmaking, sculpture and digital technology, with the aim to confront the viewer with their own expectations of Black figuration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This traveling group display, curated by Bridget R. Cooks, features artworks by digital artist Dennis Delgado, sculptor Alicia Henry, painters Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle and Titus Kaphar and drawing artists Whitfield Lovell and Lava Thomas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cArtists are the visionaries that are going to help us survive on a daily basis but to, also, envision a better future,\u201d said Cooks.
