The club sold over\u00a0550 tickets and sold out days before the event.<\/p>\n<p>The lines were out the door as Hunter and non-Hunter students alike waited to be allowed\u00a0entrance into SACC\u2019s formal. Students from SUNY Stony Brook, University of Albany, Drew\u00a0University, and many more made plans to come all the way to NYC specifically for the formal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1214 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0590-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"142\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0590-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0590-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0590-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0590-310x174.jpg 310w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/>\u201cHunter isn\u2019t a party school, but we do it the best anyway,\u201d said Muhammad Afaq, a club\u00a0executive board officer. \u201cAs a freshman I never thought I would be a part of something this\u00a0crazy, but it doesn\u2019t end here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Originally three individual clubs \u2013 Pakistani, Bengali and Indian \u2013 SACC was created when the\u00a0three came together to spread and promote South Asia cultures in Western societies. The\u00a0formal is their biggest event of the year. With dholi drummers and dancers performing their\u00a0traditional dance routine, everyone at the Brookdale Rotunda was singing and jumping along to\u00a0the music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal was to take everyone to South Asia and let them experience the culture firsthand,\u00a0being inclusive to all and making sure the songs resonated with everyone,\u201d said Nafiul Bahri,\u00a0another executive board officer.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1215 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0596-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"154\" srcset=\"https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0596-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0596-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0596-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/brie.hunter.cuny.edu\/hunterathenian\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_0596-310x174.jpg 310w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The DJ played a mix of Punjabi, Hindi, Bhangra and many other songs; but the crowd went wild\u00a0towards the end of the event when songs such as \u201cIt\u2019s Getting Hot in Here\u201d and \u201cTe Bote\u201d\u00a0blasted through the speakers.
