Pam Frederick is an associate professor of journalism at Hunter College. She teaches a publishing class called Neighborhood News, Reporting & Writing, and a very popular class called News Literacy, which gives students techniques to identify good journalism and reliable information. She taught at Columbia Journalism School for 14 years, and was the editor of The Riverdale Press in the Bronx. She continues to freelance on occasion. Frederick graduated from Middlebury College and the Columbia Journalism School. She is also a director of Hudson River Park, and a member of the Friends of Washington Market Park. She lives in Manhattan.
