About The Hunts Point Express

Your source for local news

Founded in 2006, The Hunts Point Express is a source of neighborhood news for the Hunts Point and Longwood neighborhoods of the Bronx. Its aim is to air information, connect residents and give them a voice.

Produced by students at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, The Express is updated regularly with stories about the people of the Hunts Point-Longwood community and the issues they care about, from jobs and housing to education and the environment. A print edition is published on the last Wednesday of every month and distributed free through local community centers, clinics and stores.

We want it to be part of the neighborhood’s life, and we welcome your participation. Tell us what you think of The Express and what you’d like to see it write about. There are three ways to reach us.

You can reach the reporter who wrote a story by sending an e-mail. The reporter’s e-mail address follows his or her name at the beginning of each story.

You can reach the editor and the entire staff by sending an e-mail to editor@huntspointexpress.com.

You can reach all our readers by leaving a comment at the end of any story.

If you have a story you’d like to see in The Express, the fastest way to let us know about it is to email news@huntspointexpress.com.

We look forward to hearing from you and to bringing you news that will help you make your neighborhood a better place to live and work.
