Crossing the Bruckner still a dangerous affair

A pedestrian runs for his life crossing the Bruckner Expressway on Hunts Point Avenue.

The six-lane Bruckner Boulevard has one of the highest traffic volumes in the city, and was the scene for three vehicular deaths in March and April. As a result, neighbors and elected officials are demanding that the city make some changes to improve lives for pedestrians.


New mural evokes civil rights theme

A new mural on Hunts Point Avenue is based on a Norman Rockwell painting famous for its civil rights theme.

Artist Sharon De La Cruz brings a slice of civil rights history to the peninsula.
