Reverend Ruben Diaz Sr. (with microphone) endorsed Hipolito Mejio (seated) for the presidency of the Dominican Republic, in the basement of Templo Roca Eterna church on Southern Boulevard in Longwood, during a gathering of Latino Evangelical Ministers on April 4th. Diaz Sr. told the hundred-plus crowd that the candidate’s stances against same-sex marriage and abortion led to his endorsement. Many Dominican New Yorkers with dual citizenship will be voting in the city on May 20th, when the Dominican presidential election will be held.
